Data Gathering Techniques

The technique employed in collecting data is largely dependent upon the type of study being conducted.

At PRL Research, data collection has transcended traditional methods like face-to-face interviews to include new technologies such as web surveys, mobile data collection and even social media, using structured questionnaires designed along stated objectives of each study.

Most interviews are conducted on a face-to-face basis, with the use of structured questionnaires designed along stated objectives of respective studies.

However, sampling approach depends on the objectives of each study. For instance, in a qualitative study, respondents are selected based on laid down eligibility criteria.

Quantitative studies could however be done at respondents’ homes, in a central location or by intercept at points of purchases; where a random sample is required, respondents are selected through a multi-stage random sampling procedure.
